The Delegation of Flanders in Southern Africa invites you to a special event marking the close of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence and celebrating International Human Rights Day.

Join us for an evening with Hear My Voice, which nurtures emerging spoken word artists, and Khulisa Social Solutions, a non-profit uplifting vulnerable communities across South Africa.

What to expect?

A screening of the short film #WeAreDyingHere will confront gender-based violence and femicide head-on, spotlighting the lived experiences of women in South Africa.

Khulisa will share key insights from its recent Dialogues for Social Inclusion and Cultural Transformation, addressing systemic challenges such as gender-based violence and hate crimes, and elevating community voices.

A special edition of Bodies Under Siege—the flagship production by Hear My Voice—in collaboration with Khulisa that blends spoken word, visual imagery, live music and song. It features poets Hope Netshivhambe and Siphokazi Jonas, joined by Nomashenge Dlamini. Coloratura soprano Lisa Mostin from Flanders, Belgium, will perform one of the poems as a musical piece.
